Doing what you like is freedom. Liking what you do is happiness. So it's not just 'hard' work, it's achievement by working hard in a way that you feel is worthwhile, aligned with your values and purposes. Happy work leads to success.
Loving service brings fulfillment like nothing else. And that doesn't need to be a big deal, in the news or on a huge scale. It's also simply looking for opportunities to be helpful, to cheer with a smile, to do the right thing with no thought of reward - including at work.
It's up to each of us to get stuck in, to make our dreams come true, to live a life that is of value. If what we accomplish is easy, there's little sense of fulfillment in that. Our potential has not been realized. We didn't even try. If we fall short of a great goal, so what... we may still have achieved remarkable things and in the wider view, succeeded.
