Don't say yes because it's hard to say no. And as Suzann Paneck Robins points out, “It is also necessary to be aware of our own personal boundaries and the limitations of our tolerance. Only then can we move toward acceptance of those who are different from us and eventually recognize that we are all part of the same whole of humanity.”
And of course, respecting other people's boundaries is equally important.
Boundaries define the limits we need to set in our lives to protect what is most important to us. I look at boundaries as part of the foundation that holds our lives in place.
