"Do you think using speed for a few months would be a good way to lose weight?"
I have just been reading the conversation that you and sophie had. i am in exactly the same position as sophie, that i eat all the time even when i am not hungry, especially sweet things!!! (but i never smoked, only when i'm out drinking) but that's what i'm worried about, that if i carry on the way i'm going then i will end up being obese!!! i know i can do it because i have done it before, where i only eat at a certain time and stuck to the same breakfast and lunch and then whatever my mum cooked me for dinner. I also used to do loads of exercises but now i don't have the time or energy!!
A friend of mine told me that you can lose weight drastically by taking speed for only a few months, but i'm scared in case i become addicted. But i also thought if i have a strong enough will power not to become addict, and keep saying to myself that the only reason you are doing this is to lose weight, do you think that will work?
Definitely NOT!! Poor advice from a friend. That's playing with fire. If you don't have the will power you need right now not to eat, what makes you think you'd have the will power not to get addicted to something else and much more serious? The first thing you need to do is be able to face yourself and your issues honestly, without judging yourself. Then you have the power to change them. Thinking of using something like speed, which is a life destroying thing anyway, and is not something in harmony with a person's natural or balanced rhythm is using an external and dangerous thing instead of your own will power and inner strength - and THAT's the issue here, for you. You need to focus on and develop your own inner strength to deal with life - not hide from it behind eating or weight, or use external substances to get you through. Right?
RESPONSIBILITY IS THE ABILITY TO fulfill ONE'S NEEDS AND TO DO SO IN A WAY THAT NEITHER HARMS YOU NOR DOES IT DEPRIVE OTHERS OF THE ABILITY TO fulfill THEIR NEEDS.
RESPONSIBILITY IS THE ABILITY TO BE WHO YOU ARE IN YOUR FULLNESS.
So, the question to ask yourself here is, what are you afraid of that makes you feel so nervous that you eat all the time, or, what are you needing that you are not giving to yourself and substituting food for instead? What are you REALLY hungry for, and what do you need to do to create it in your life? Somewhere along the way you stopped taking care of yourself. How come? What changed?
