"When I feel bad I eat flour-based food, which is making me fat"
Hi, I was wondering if you could give me some advice on how to stop eating something. The thing that I eat is flour and I think it is making me fat but I don't know for sure. I think the reason I eat it is because when I'm feeling bad. When I was in school before I got out for the summer my friends would make me feel bad because at one time I had stopped. So I started eating it again and I was wondering if you could give me some advice.
I invite you to read the questions on the site that also deal with eating issues or weight problems. You will in all likelihood get some understanding and insights from them that also apply to you.
Your friends can't make you feel bad - you can choose to feel bad when someone says or does something, but that is up to you how you will feel at any time, whatever anyone else says or does. What has you feeling bad about yourself, and what are you anxious about? When did you begin to start believing that you weren't good enough? That is the first place to start. Sounds as if you need so much to be accepted and not rejected, that even though you know something is good for you, you will change what you believe is right for you depending upon what others say and do. That is a fear of rejection going on. It's important that you love yourself, believe in yourself, and follow what you know to be right for you. What stops you from doing that? Growing the inner strength and ability to love and trust yourself and who you are is what's up for you. When you love yourself, and are there for yourself, then you can never feel rejected because you know who you are, and you trust yourself and feel good about yourself.
It would be good for you to read the Laws of the Universe and think about what is offered there quite a bit.
I also invite you to read Caroline Myss's book, Anatomy of the Spirit - there is some good stuff in there for you.
A good thing to say, about this issue of feeling rejected or not good enough, is this:
