The point we are trying to make here is you are not going to motivate anyone unless you’re motivated yourself.
What does this have to do with ‘Strategic Vision’?
As a leader there is the need to be motivated (inspiring) to bring about motivation in your workplace. Likewise with strategic vision you must align your actions to the companies’ values and principles.
If your organization values one thing yet acts in another way that does not support the company's stated values, you will have little chance of producing a team that is dynamic and principle driven.
They will see through the charade and lose respect for you and the company, making it difficult to achieve real long term motivation. This results in reduced productivity.
In others words, corporate integrity is vitally as important as your own character integrity.
It is important to make sure the team is aware and understands the overall strategic vision plan for the company.
If you don’t have a corporate vision plan that staff can use as a guide, what are they going to base their decisions and actions on?

Dynamic leaders will use strategic vision to inspire their teams. A part of having effective leadership skills is to enroll the whole team in the big picture.
In their impacting book 'The Leadership Challenge' James M Kouzes and Barry Z. Posner states that one of the 5 practices of exemplary leadership is to ‘inspire a shared vision’.
Your people want to feel that they are making a positive impact. That their work has meaning. As such making them aware of how their roles fit into the grand scale of things, will dramatically improve their moral and self motivation.
In other words Strategic Vision is in many ways a moral compass for the team...

Having vision is a major factor to consider if you are looking at transforming your company into a dynamic world class establishment.
So Let’s Look At How To Get Vision Into The Workplace.
To start the ball rolling you need to take a look at where your company is going, what are its goals and values? This is not a task to be taken lightly or rushed.
A good start would be making sure that you have a vision statement and a mission statement for your team. These are used to remind you and your staff of the company’s overall direction.
OK. So what’s the difference between mission statements vs vision statement?
Basically a corporate vision statement is focused predominately on where the company wants to be in the future. A mission statement is focused predominately on the present and how it intends to achieve the vision.
If you have them already in place, that’s half the battle. Mind you, if the vision or mission statement has no relevance to your staff OR if the vision lacks IMPACT the statements are going to be a waste of time.
If your current vision/mission statements are not inspiring (inspiration means to 'breathe spirit into' your team) you may want to consider revamping them.
Involve all the team into the process of developing the company’s Moral Compass. This will create a statement that will be more inspirational and profitable in the long run.
