We are all so addicted to online shopping, isn't it? Earlier, it was cool and trendy to shop online. But, due to the pandemic, getting stuff directly to your doorstep has become a need for all of us. Online shopping has made our jobs super easy and convenient, right? However, we cannot neglect some of the cold points of online electronic store or shopping websites. You might have noticed a few tips being advised to all the online customers while shopping but are these tips helpful or good for us?

Check out the full article to know what these tips are all about and should we follow them or not.

You Must Not Follow These Tips While Shopping Online

  • Don't use your debit card.

It is advisable not to use your debit card. Instead, it is better to go for a credit card or any other modes of online payment like Google pay, Paytm, Paypal, or more because it protects you from all fraudulent activities but a debit card does not offer this level of protection. Also, your debit card is attached to your bank accounts, and the level of risk is much higher. Moreover, the credit card company will immediately reserve the money and conduct an investigation on an emergency basis in case of any fraud.

  • Don't put your credit card information online.

After completing the payment procedure, we often get an option of saving the credit card information for smooth payment in the future. So that you don't have to enter it every time but, don't make this mistake ever. You are putting yourself at risk. Many companies have already suffered and got their data (customer's credit card information) stolen. Therefore, it is better to be on the safer side and not store your credit card details.

  • Don't give extra information.

Whenever you shop online from an online electronics store in Australia or any online shopping website, they may ask you about several details to complete the purchase but make sure you are giving only the required information. If they are asking for too much information, or there is something fishy just, leave it then and there only. Also, if they ask for your address or phone number details are optional then, skip it. Always read the privacy policy of the brand or website you are shopping at. Therefore, be a smart shopper!

  • Never go with a too-good offer.

Wondering what this means? You must never go by with an offer that seems to be serving unexceptional or too much that doesn't happen in reality. During the promotion event, we get some exciting offers but, at the same time, be cautious as cybercriminals take most of the advantage at such events and try to scam online users.

Conclusion

While we shop from an online electronic store, it is essential to be aware of where you are giving your personal and card details. Make sure you don't accept any scam by any chance or don't follow all the tips blindly available at the shopping website. Don't forget to keep in mind all the above points to save yourself from cybercrimes or fraud.
