What is Metabolic Syndrome?

Metabolic Syndrome

There are so many diseases that we talk about in general but we have never talked about the diseases combined.

The syndrome is basically a collection of different diseases. It is never just one disease. Whenever we say syndrome, we mean there is more than one disease.

Today, we will get to discuss one of these syndromes called metabolic syndrome. We will discuss what it is and how it affects your body.

Metabolic syndrome:

Metabolic syndrome is a condition in which there is a cluster of different conditions that do not occur separately but together.

This is the disease that increases the risk of you getting a stroke, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes. The conditions that this creates include high blood pressure, high sugar, and the excess of fats around your waist.

It also contributes to increasing your cholesterol level and also the levels of triglycerides. So, as we mentioned above it is a condition that comes with various diseases and not just one.

It also causes erectile dysfunction, which you have to buy sildenafil to get its treatment.

If you have one condition it never means that you have metabolic syndrome, but you are always more at risk of getting some serious disease.

What are the symptoms of metabolic syndrome?

This is one of those conditions that does not really come with any specific signs and symptoms but one sign that is very apparent in this disease is that the circumference of your waist increases.

Along with it if the blood sugar levels increase then there are chances that you might get the signs and symptoms of diabetes.

The signs and symptoms of diabetes include thirst that occurs very often, constant fatigue, and blurred vision.

What are the causes of metabolic syndrome?

Inactivity, obesity, and increased weight are some major causes of metabolic syndrome. Not just that but it is also connected with insulin resistance.

The food that we eat is broken down by our body into sugar. The hormone that is used to help the sugar to enter your cells and give them energy is insulin.

Those people who are suffering from insulin resistance, have cells that do not respond to the insulin normally and that is why the glucose is not able to enter the cells. When this happens the sugar level in the blood arises.

Risk factors:

We will now get to discuss some of the risk factors that can cause metabolic syndrome.

Age matters: One of the major risk factors that cause metabolic syndrome is your age, as you age the risk of you getting metabolic syndrome increases.

Obesity: As we have discussed above that if you are overweight then you can definitely fall prey to metabolic syndrome. But if you have not gotten it yet then you are definitely at the risk of getting it. Here is a free guide by HCGDietInfo to prevent obesity.

Diabetes: There are two conditions of diabetes that can make you more at risk of getting metabolic syndrome. One is gestational diabetes i.e. diabetes that occurs when the women are pregnant, the other one is type 2 diabetes. If you have any of these conditions then you are at major risk of getting metabolic syndrome.

Some other diseases: There are also some other conditions that include polycystic ovary syndrome, fatty liver disease, and sleep apnea. These are some of the other diseases that can also cause a metabolic syndrome in your body.

These are some of the diseases that make you at greater risk of getting metabolic syndrome. If you have any of these conditions you should always be extra careful.

How can you prevent metabolic syndrome?

There are some ways that you can follow to prevent metabolic syndrome, we will discuss some of the methods of preventions down below:

  • As we mentioned above that obesity is one of the causes of metabolic syndrome, so, to prevent that you should get at least thirty minutes of exercise daily and work out every day.
  • Food definitely makes a difference so you should always eat more vegetables, protein, and fruits to prevent this disease.
  • Decreasing salt in your food and limiting saturated food will help you in preventing the disease.
