Vape Pens vs Mods: What's the Difference?

Vape Pens vs Mods

If you're trying to quit smoking or using chewing tobacco, vaping is an excellent way to ween off of the nicotine and find an enjoyable alternative.

There are a lot of benefits to vaping, and it's relatively easy once you know how to get started. The main thing to understand before you start, though, is the difference between vape pens vs mods.

We're going to take a look at both of these vaping options today, giving you some insight into which option might be better for you.

Let's get started.

Vape Pens vs Mods: Which is Right for You?

All vapes are composed of a body, a mouthpiece, a coil, battery, and cartridge.

The battery heats the coil, and the heated coil begins to vaporize the juice contained in the cartridge. All of those components are held in the body, and the resulting vapor is pulled out through the mouthpiece.

Whether you get a pen or a mod, this will be the general process. The option that you choose, though, should depend on how you're planning to use the vape and what kind of variety you'd like.

Vape Pens

Vape pens are the sleeker option. As the name suggests, pens are shaped almost exactly like a pen and can fit right into your pocket. The pen you get will come with a fixed setting, and you can swap out various juices depending on your taste.

These are simpler, and they make it easy to just run out, pick up a vape, and get started. Different juices have different levels of nicotine so you can mix and match to find your ideal nicotine levels.

Vape pens are functional and they're the less expensive option. They will work well for anyone who is simply looking to get nicotine in a convenient form.

Mods

Mods are the bulkier version that produces larger clouds. When you see someone blowing a large vapor cloud, they're likely using a mod.

Mods have a larger battery and a smarter internal computer that allows the user to adjust their settings to a greater degree. For example, a person can adjust the temperature of the vapor to improve the experience on their lungs.

Adjustable features are nice for the immediate user experience, but mods are also adjustable on the level of the features that compose them. You can mix and match different coils, batteries, bodies, mouthpieces, and more.

It's important to find a battery for your vape that works with the mod and holds enough power for your liking.

If you're a person who's looking to customize the vape experience as much as possible, mods will be better for you. If you're not too particular and you'd just like something that's simple, the pen might be a better option.
