Stretch-Mark Removal Surgery;
Everything You Should Know

Stretch marks, also known as Striae, are colored marks — that look like scars — associated with biological alternations such as pregnancy, weight gain, puberty, obesity, and some other physical activities.

However, it is neither associated with any health disturbance nor does it alter one's health.

STRETCH MARK REMOVAL TECHNIQUES

As regards treating stretch marks, it could be achieved via various means, depending on your genetic composition.

Among the other means such as topical treatments, microdermabrasion, laser treatment, stretch marks removal surgery is the most common technique for pregnant and obese women.

STRETCH MARK REMOVAL SURGERY

Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic or Dermatological Surgery, although quite expensive, can permanently eliminate stretch marks from your body, instead of camouflaging or altering them.

A tummy tuck, more commonly referred to as 'abdominoplasty', is the only surgical technique effective for wiping out stretch marks. It also doubles as a means to remove excess skin and fat from your lower abdomen, which places it in a firmer and flatter position.

Requirements

Candidates of tummy tuck surgery include patients who do not smoke, are in good health, and have a notable amount of extra fat on the stomach.

Also, it is customized for candidates with stretch marks only between the bikini line and the belly button.

It is ideal for both men and women who face intense abdominal proliferation, most likely through the aging process.

For nursing women, surgeons recommend that they wait for a year after giving birth.

Breast Lift

Breast Lift is an ideal surgical technique for women with saggy and stretched-out breasts, most likely arising from pregnancy and breastfeeding. They are most likely affected by stretch marks on the breasts, although it could as well be genetic.

A Breast Lift will hoist the breasts back to the natural position, compress the skin and eliminate the stretch marks. During the process, the surgeon will extract the stretched-out skin below the breasts. It may not involve any on the crest or sides, though they could be removed differently either by breast augmentation or excise on the tissue.

In return, your breasts will get a smooth, natural, and younger-looking appearance.

Thigh Lift

Stretch marks also creep up in less visible areas such as the thigh and buttocks. Although they look less disgusting because they can't be easily seen, the fact remains that they are there!

Thigh Lift is ideal for those with excess fat on their thighs, waists, and buttocks. Interestingly, it could be done on the outer or inner thigh simultaneously.

During the inner thigh lift, the surgeon pulls the skin rightly and removes excesses after making an incision down to the pubic area. The incision extends from the outer thigh up to the hips, which provides space for an outer thigh lift.

During this procedure, loose muscles are addressed by tightening to improve the contour of the thigh.

This process is generally customized to prevent skin infections from moisture on excess skin.

Cost

Stretch marks surgical removal are usually costly, although it could depend on the texture of the stretch mark.
