Who's in Charge of Your Health?

For years I have been fascinated by the idea that one's thought processes can seriously effect one's health. I believe that most people take their mind for granted and have no real idea of how powerful it is or how they could use that power to improve their health and well-being.
Whilst western medicine makes huge strides in the treatment of symptoms of sickness and disease using man-made drugs, the role of the mind and the body's own powerful immune system is often overlooked.
In my book "Anyway... who's in charge of your health?" I have tried to explain some of the very simple ways of using the power of the mind to control both physical and mental health. Also ways to reduce the chance of sickness and injury, maintain the correct weight and live a longer, happier and more productive life.
As an ex-smoker of 16yrs, I have outlined a quit smoking method that finally worked for me as well as many of my friends. My book contains many useful and very easy to follow suggestions for anyone who seriously wants to take charge of their health and well-being, as well as spending less time at the doctor's. Your mind is the most powerful tool that you possess. Use it correctly and it will make all the amazing parts of your body involved in the healing process, function as they should. Use it incorrectly and those same amazing parts of your body will become confused and, in some cases, even shut down.
The fact is, if you change the way that you eat, without even changing what you eat, you could probably improve your digestion to such a degree that you would lose weight and rid yourself of any intestinal and stomach disorders from which you suffer.
Whatever exercise you do, it is vital that you enjoy it and really look forward to doing it. If you don't feel this way about your daily exercise, stop, and try something new. There are literally hundreds of different ways to stay fit and maintain your correct weight. I believe that a person who rises early and participates in some form of exercise, starts their day 'miles' ahead of those who don't.
Wake up each day excited that you are closer to the day that you will be clean and free from that dirty.......habit. Start thinking about how you will reward yourself when you become a non-smoker. Work out how much money you will save, and think of something you can do with it that will make you FEEL REALLY GOOD.
Even though you now know that you will never smoke again, deal with it one day at a time. Each day will become easier and each day you will feel better. If you feel you need help at any time, re-read this chapter and talk to someone you know who has quit successfully. I am sure they will tell you the same as I; it just gets easier the further down the track you go.
