Keep in mind that it’s not necessary to drink 8 to 12 glasses of water a day. What’s important is to listen to your body and drink when you think your body needs it. Always be mindful of the symptoms of dehydration and drink water regularly to prevent them. If you want to maintain your health and well-being, always start with drinking enough water.

2. Administer Intravenous Rehydration

For severe dehydration that needs immediate treatment, you can take an intravenous fluid replacement (liquid IV), which can come in the form of powder dissolved in water so that you can get the sodium and glucose that need to be replenished in your body when you become dehydrated.

In case you’re in a hospital, a doctor will insert an IV line into your vein consisting of a tube with a needle on one end while the other is connected to a bag of fluids. Keep in mind that a well-balanced diet won’t only maintain your fluid levels, but also your overall health. Two cups of fruits and vegetables may help relieve dehydration as these food items also contain minerals, healthy sugar, as well as hydrating salts.
