Foods high in fibre include fruits, vegetables, legumes and whole grains. Most doctors recommend consuming 14 grams of fibre for every 1,000 calories. 

Eat More Foods with a Low Glycemic Index

Making a change to your diet takes willpower and discipline to maintain. But it can also save you from developing diabetes. By adopting foods into your diet that are low on the glycemic index, you can slow the absorption of these foods and give your body enough time to process them fully. This is how to reduce your blood sugar level and improve your overall health at the same time. 

The glycemic index measures and rates foods that are low to moderate at raising the blood sugar levels. These foods include:

  • Barley
  • Beans
  • Bulgur
  • Lentils
  • Legumes
  • Non-starchy Vegetables
  • Oats 
  • Wheat Pasta
  • Yoghurt 

Manage Your Stress Levels
