Clean Air

By Mikkie Mills

Over the past few decades, it has become clear that pollution is beginning to have a devastating impact on the globe. In some metro areas, pollution has worsened air quality to the point where it is no longer safe to be outside for extended periods of time. For those that are looking for a new place to live, finding a place that has good air quality is very important. There are several reasons why living in an area with good air quality is so important.

Cleaner Lungs

One of the most direct benefits to living in an area with clean air is that you will have cleaner lungs. After a long period of time, the pollution in the air that you breathe on a daily basis will have a very damaging effect on your lungs. The smoke, dust, pollution, and other particles can all cause severe respiratory problems that are very similar to those issues had by people that smoked cigarettes on a regular basis.

Less Allergy Outbreaks

Many people today have allergies related to pollen, mold, and other issues. This can lead to difficult periods where they constantly have itchy eyes and are coughing and sneezing. For those that live in cities that have poor air quality, the risk of allergies, asthma, and other related conditions only continue to increase. If you already are susceptible to allergies, finding a place to live with clean air is very important.

Improved Mood

While breathing in poor quality air is bad for your lungs, it is also bad for your mental health. One of the key chemicals in your body and brain that help to keep you in a better mood is serotonin. When you live in an area that has poor air quality, the amount of serotonin in your body can be negatively impacted. When this occurs, you can start to show symptoms of depression and anxiety. If you live in an area where you are constantly breathing in clean air, you will not have to worry about this risk.

Improved Digestion

Most people will be surprised at how linked the respiratory and digestive systems are. If you are not getting clean oxygen on a daily basis, it will make your digestive system work less efficiently. When you live in an area with good oxygen all of the time, you will be able to enjoy improved digestion in your body as well.

Longer Lifespan

Ultimately, all of these physical issues that come with breathing in polluted air can have a major impact on your overall physical health. Not only are your risks of respiratory and mental health issues increased, but you will be less likely to be able to lead a healthy and active life. All of these factors can add up and will lead to a shorter lifespan. When you live in an area with clean air, you will be more likely able to live a happy and healthy life that will allow you to be outside and enjoy fresh clean air.

Better Real Estate Values

If you live in an area that has poor air quality it may be time to consider moving to a different city. People are becoming increasingly aware of the dangers of breathing air that is of poor quality. Because of this homes in areas with clean air are in higher demand. If you want to live in an area with better air quality, consider moving to new homes Colorado Springs for better air quality and quality of life.

When you are looking for a place to live, there are many factors that you need to consider. It is clearly important that air quality is one important factor. You should not only look at current air quality ratings, but also figure out which direction they are trending and to see if the local community is taking steps to reduce pollution.
