One of the most stressful things we have to worry about in our lives is money. How we spend it, make it and see it is vital to our temporal survival. When you are the main provider for your family, your personal spending becomes even more vital. Even if you are budgeting for just yourself, you should still budget.

When shopping, use coupons and be aware of the deals on specific items that you need to purchase. This should be something evident when buying rather expensive items like a wedding ring for example. Be sure to do your research because there are cheaper man-made diamonds that you can get. They are said to look just like natural diamonds and are completely worth it to save money especially on an engagement ring. You will be happy and she will be happy and that is the goal. The stressfulness of preparing yourself for that moment when you ask the love of your life to marry you is stressful enough. The money to buy the ring does not need to add to that stress.

Plan More

Planning out your days and especially your most stressful days can alleviate stress. Knowing what you will be doing at specific times when you do not have a lot of time to do an important task can help you get through it. Making a list of your priorities and then getting them down onto the calendar to plan out when you are going to do them can help you deal with that stress. Planning does not have to always be for stressful tasks like work or school, it can be for fun and stress relieving activities as well. All of these things that you are planning should reflect the way you want to live your life. If you do not like some of these suggestions, find the ones that work for you. Stress relieving activities that you could plan could include: running, yoga, meditation, painting or any other activity that you like to do either for fun or to relieve stress. The ideal situation would be to have at least one of these activities planned in your day to keep yourself balanced. Balance is key because without it, you usually become even more stressed.

Self Awareness

One of the most important things to know about yourself is knowing how much you can take before you crack or breakdown. To do that, it might require testing your limits, but once you know what that is, it will become more easy to be aware of when you need to stop and take a break from a stressful activity.

Mental health is important to think about when it comes to stress. A lot of the stress and stress management starts with the way we think. It may help to do a self assessment to determine which parts of your mental health you need to work on. The best thing you can do for yourself is filling your mind with good things. These things can come from good books, music, and television. Telling yourself that you can do hard things is just one example of some good self talk that can get you far and make you less stressed when made into a behavioral pattern.

With all of this said, stress management and how you do it is ultimately up to you. No one is going to make you do it. It is your decision how stressed you are and it is you who controls it. There are some things in life that cause us stress that we cannot control, that is true, but we can control the way we react to those things. The best way to live is with the realization that you do not need to be the victim and that you are the pilot of your own life. Getting there is a process, but is worth the time and energy.
