  • Follow The Rules: Following rules not only develop sportsmanship but it also ensures your safety. Rules are made so that no one gets injured during sports. When every participant in the sport follows proper rules, everyone stays safe.
  • Proper Warm-up: Without a proper warm-up, your muscles are prone to overstretching and other painful injuries. When your muscles are warm, they are much more flexible and can bear more stress. This is why if you properly warm-up before stepping in, you are going to get an injury less likely.

Dealing With Injuries

If, for any reason, an injury has occurred, you have to deal with the situation calmly. There are several situations, and the required actions vary depending upon the situation.

Emergency Case

You should seek immediate medical assistance if the following are the symptoms:

  1. Swelling and redness of the wound
  2. If you are limping
  3. If the patient is unconscious for more than 60 seconds
  4. If the eye is injured
  5. If the neck is injured
  6. If bones are broken
  7. Visible deformities

Acute Injuries

Injures like minor cuts, strains, sprains, and fractures are referred to as acute injuries. These injuries can be treated using the effective RICE method. Professionals use this method and it stands for:

  • Rest
  • Ice
  • Compression
  • Elevation

For best results follow the RICE method within the first 24-36 hours of the injury.

Chronic Injuries

Repetitive exercise of the muscles may result in overuse or chronic injuries. These types of injuries include tendonitis and stress fractures. The symptoms are not that severe at first but may get worse if left untreated. It is recommended to visit your doctor soon to get proper treatment for chronic injuries.
