When his world was hit by the devastating effects of MS (Multiple Sclerosis), a fit and athletic 23 year-old Damian Houston was left wondering "Why me?" Now, after nearly twenty years facing the debilitating effects of the degenerative disease, Damian believes he has found a way to repair and regenerate his body, using a natural but powerful supplementation program.
"I feel I have finally found a way to overcome the endless cycle of relapses, remissions and progressive degeneration that have blighted most of my life," says Damian who decided to take responsibility for his own health when conventional medicine didn't get the results he so desperately wanted. "When MS left me without a job and my beloved wife of seven years had left, I decided to find out what was really going on in my body and do something about it."
Written off as a permanent walking stick and wheelchair user, he decided to get diplomas in all the relevant health disciplines he could enrol on, cleaned up his lifestyle and increased the dosages of nutritional supplementation his was taking.
"I was practicing nutritional microscopy, which measures the impact of lifestyle on the quality of our blood, when I observed two notable things; my mobility had significantly improved through the changes I had made - no drinking, smoking and eating organic food, and the quality of my blood had also improved - an indicator of improved health," says Damian who now practices as the 'Diet Detective'.
In his ongoing research he discovered that apparently no bone marrow extracted stem cell operations had created any improvement for MS sufferers; it also seemed that the nutritional advice crucial to enable any stage of recovery was basic and given very little importance. This has led to Damian tracking down the most effective natural supplements to help boost stem cell production from his own bone marrow, aid their migration to areas of damaged myelin and provide the necessary nutrients to aid the stem cells to do their work.
"I have created a blog that will document my continued progress with MS and this unique treatment protocol," says Damian, "and I also want other MS patients to join me on the journey, which utilizes only natural methods, including a revolutionary new non-invasive stem cell treatment."
"I believe the nutrients I will feed my body over a six month period from 1st January 2007 will allow me to heal myself from the damage caused by my own immune system," proposes Damian. "I will post my progress weekly on my blog and I'm looking for five people diagnosed with MS to join me, giving us all a more accurate idea as to the success of the project."
About MS: Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is the most common disabling neurological condition affecting young adults. Around 85,000 people in the UK alone have MS. MS is the result of damage to myelin - a protective sheath surrounding nerve fibres of the central nervous system. When myelin is damaged, this interferes with messages between the brain and other parts of the body. For some people, MS is characterized by periods of relapse and remission while for others it has a progressive pattern. For everyone, it makes life unpredictable.
