1. University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center

Having over 19,000 employees focused on cancer care, the MD Anderson Cancer Center is one of the most high-tech hospitals in America. Located in Houston, TX, the center has a global decision support platform powered through cognitive computing called Oncology Expert Advisor. The platform is able to provide a detailed analysis of patient information for precise care and clinical trials. 

2. Mayo Clinic

Located in Rochester, MN, the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center treats over 100,000 cancer patients each year. To improve patient care and research, the Mayo Clinic pioneered the use of electronic health records with their newest innovation, the Remote Diagnostics and Management Platform. This platform augments human decision-making within clinical workflows to help with diagnostics and care. 

3. Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is located in Boston, MA, and has a collaboration with the Harvard Cancer Center. The institute was also named the No. 2 pediatric cancer program in the country, and is currently exploring a human antibody engineering platform as well as technology-enhanced lung cancer gene alterations. 

4. Johns Hopkins

The Johns Hopkins Hospital, which is located in Baltimore, MD, has been the leader in improving understanding of cancer mechanisms and developing new methods of treatment. Their new software can shrink the processing time for profiling gene mutations in DNA down from 15 to 3 days.

5. Cleveland Clinic

Located in Cleveland, OH, the Cleveland Clinic has announced a 10-year partnership with IBM to create the Discovery Accelerator. This accelerator has a goal to combine quantum computing and AI to advance health care research. The clinic also hosts an annual Medical Innovation Summit, bringing together speakers and leaders from health organizations to deliver content to innovate the health care system.
