Depressions are a mood disorder that causes constant feelings of sadness and loss of interest. Another name for depression is major depressive disorder or clinical depression. Depression has been labeled as a stigma and has been cast down as just “the blues.” That is not the case. The Symptoms In Children, Teens, & Adults
There are common signs that are spotted in children and teens. Many of these symptoms are similar to those of adults. In younger children, some signs of depression include sadness, irritability, clinginess, worry, and refusal to participate in daily activities. When Should I Get Help?

If you don’t need emergency help, you can call your doctor or mental health care professional.
There are other options outside the first responder class. You could reach out to a close friend. You could call a minister, spiritual leader, or a loved one if you feel you are in danger of hurting yourself.
There is no cure for depression. There is not a magic pill that you can swallow and it magically goes away. However, there are ways to prevent these feelings. One of the basic rules of preventing depression is finding a routine that works for you.
Some of these tips include taking steps to control your stress. It’s important to think about what is stressing you out. Try and find the factor that is causing this feeling and take steps towards preventing the trigger. Another way to prevent extreme thoughts is to reach out to family and friends. Those that struggle with depression isolate. The best way to prevent these feelings is to make contact with someone each day.
If you are serious about making a change, then seeking treatment with a professional therapist is your best play. Some meet with counselors once a week, once a month, or once every couple of months. It’s what works best for you. In the end, it’s important to know that your life matters, and there is a way to change these feelings.
