CBD - Beating the Stigma

For a long time, cannabidiol (CBD) has had a negative reputation. It is easy enough to understand where that reputation derives from, as it is found in marijuana. It cannot treat everything and fix every issue, and research is still being done on the extent of its positive effects, but so many benefits are proven that its recent boom in use and sales is no wonder.

When doctors first began recommending it for epilepsy, it was almost always prescribed as an oil, arguably its purest form. However, with its mainstream popularity it has, as many supplements, gained popularity in almost countless forms. Today in any CBD store you can find oils, vape cartridges, edibles, drinks, and sweets infused with CBD to make the experience as varied as people’s tastes. For those who don’t like the smell or taste of pure CBD oil, there are now countless ways to take it and enjoy the experience.

With its recent popularity boom, cannabidiol has become quickly legalised in many countries and easy to find. The most important question is, how do you want to use it? This will affect where you search for it. Is it better to buy CBD products in person or online? Well, it depends on what you’re looking for. If you know exactly what you want, then search for an online store for quick delivery and range of products. If you’re still searching for the best fit and want to know more about specific products and their effects, it may be best to visit your local shop in person. The shop employees can give you detailed, knowledgeable information and point you towards the best option.

Dealing with Stigma as a CBD User

The main issue regarding cannabidiol stigma is in relation to work. Some employers still disapprove of the use of CBD. It is understandable, in some cases, for an employer to smell ‘weed’ on you and be angry. The connection between CBD as a medicine or supplement and marijuana as a drug is a difficult one to untie. In such a scenario, the best thing to do is to explain the situation to the employer, refrain from using CBD in the workplace if possible, or to acquire a prescription or note from a GP. This is the most recommended thing to do if you are an active user of CBD. Nobody should be coming into work high, but CBD has been legalised for a reason. It does not get you high, and once you can prove it’s only CBD, it should not be an issue at work.
