How to Keep Your Energy Rate Up

By Elliot Caleira

Having a high energy rate is a part of feeling healthy. The thing is that you can be as healthy as ever and still feel tired when you wake up in the morning, tired during your workout, and tired hours before you go to bed. Having high amounts of energy is more than just eating healthy--you have to regulate the way that you live. This might mean that you need to change things that you thought were healthy but are depleting your energy rate. To help you gain more energy, here are some of the best ways that you can keep your energy rate up and feel healthier than ever.

1. Get Enough Sleep

One of the most important things that you can do for your energy rate is to sleep (even though that may seem counterproductive. When you sleep, your mind works through the issues that have come up in the past week. Sleeping is important for a variety of reasons.

Mentally, your subconscious will dream and think through problems. You might wake up after a good night’s rest and suddenly have the answer to a question that you’ve had for weeks. Your brain doesn’t rest in the same way that you might think it does. While sleeping, your mind does the most important thing it can do: it thinks.

Physically, your body rests to replenish its energy. Over the course of the day, your muscles work, strain, and stretch. Sleep allows your muscles to recover and repair.

2. Consider Supplements

If you’re struggling with fatigue on a daily basis, one of the things that might help is by taking a supplement. To determine the right supplement for you, you need to analyze your lifestyle. For example, if you lead a plant-based lifestyle without meat, eggs, or dairy you should consider taking a vitamin B12 supplement because you can’t get it in your regular diet. If you’re looking for something that has more than just one benefit, you might want to consider taking vital reds which would combine several different things to help your health.

Think about your life choices, your needs, and your interests to determine which supplement is going to be right for you. It’s rare that you will find a one-size-fits-all type of supplement. Research the benefits of a supplement before you decide to take it.

3. Exercise the Right Way

If you’re feeling fatigued throughout the day, you might be exercising wrong. You shouldn’t do the same thing every day and work out the same muscles every day. By doing that you’ll fatigue one part of your body without allowing the muscles to recover. Over time, this will result in muscle scarring and damage.

The right way to work out is by alternating your workouts by day. You should also make sure that you’re not only doing one type of workout. You should make sure that you’re doing weight training mixed in with cardio to give your body a full body workout without ripping and tearing the muscles. Adding cardio to your workouts also lets the muscles stretch and breathe.

4. Eat Vitamin Rich Foods

If you’re still feeling tired throughout the day and you’re noticing that you’re low on energy. The next thing that you should take a look at is what you’re eating. The food that you eat has a huge impact on your body and your energy. If you only eat Cheetos, you’re going to feel awful and your energy is going to feel drained.

You should focus your diet on foods that are colorful and full of vitamins and minerals. Make sure that you’re getting the right number of servings of fruit and vegetables every day. In fact, it’s also better to eat more fruits and vegetables than less. You should also eat less meat and get proteins from cleaner sources like beans, nuts, seeds, and plant-based sources. Heavy meats like red meats, chicken, turkey, and pork can cause your body to get tired faster and the protein lasts for a short period of time. Eat foods that support your body rather than the foods that hurt it.
