Anyone who's spent any time in the grips of despair will know how easy it is to enter a spiral of negative thoughts and how hard it is to escape from it. That procrastination leads to lost time. Because we've lost time, we fall further behind with those tasks, and that breeds self-loathing. In turn, that leads to low self-esteem and a feeling of helplessness, and the whole cycle repeats the next day. Before we know it, we're in a dark place, and it isn't easy to see a way out.

We wish there were a simple answer to this problem, but there isn't. At the very least, it will give you the chance to clear your mind, focus on the things that are truly bothering you, and teach you some new breathing techniques that will help you when you’re feeling overwhelmed.

Help Someone Else

If you're feeling down right now, it means you know how terrible it is to feel unloved, unworthy, unsupported, or otherwise bleak. That gives you empathy, and empathy is a powerful thing. Focused the right way, empathy becomes a motivation to help others - and through helping others, you can rediscover your own sense of self-worth. Do you have enough spare time to volunteer somewhere for a charity? Could you read for children, donate clothes to the homeless, or take part in fundraising? Doing so, and seeing with your own eyes what a difference it makes, is a powerful reminder that your life matters, and you're valuable.

Speak To Someone

This is the most obvious and yet important tip we're going to give you. Do your friends or family know how you're feeling? Even if your friends or family aren't available to you, or you find it too difficult to speak to them, there are so many people you reach out to when you're down.
