Creative Methods to Achieve Your Personal Goals

By Elliot Caleira

A New Path Forward

Perhaps you're tired of where life has left you as of late. You no longer feel the passion in a lot of areas in your life. You know you need to make a change. You know you have goals. However, you may not be sure how to achieve those goals. Luckily, success is easier to achieve than ever. There are multiple avenues at your fingertips to utilize. All you may lack is a bit of information on how to get started. This article will go over a few creative methods you may not have considered in order to achieve your personal and life goals.

  1. Consider Your Strengths
Each person is gifted with a strength. Be it art, knowledge of mathematics, an empathetic ear, or skill with speech, you have something that you're particularly good at. Something that doesn't cost you as much energy or effort to achieve where it might cost someone else a lot of time and effort to perform. Initially, you should examine and know where your strengths rest. Your goals, and how you achieve them, should be linked to these strengths. If you have a skill that is underdeveloped and requires a bit of aid like speech, then you might consider negotiations training. It can sharpen your speech skill and prepare you for talking yourself into and out of situations that can make your goals just that much easier to reach.
  2. Practice Kindness
You can help yourself out a lot in the long-run by practicing kindness to others. While you may still be able to achieve those goals on your own, it will likely take more time and resources. Instead, build connections with kindness. Do something for someone else without expectations, and you'll find that they're more likely to help you in the future. Whether you believe in karma or not, the simple science is that people who don't like you aren't going to help. Those who do are going to take your plight onto themselves and see you through it. Making the right kind of connection could be what introduces you to the right person that can help you reach your goal.
  3. Work Effectively
No goal that was ever worth having was easy. It's going to take work. A lot of it. However, you should do what you can to distinguish busy work from effective work. Is the stuff you're doing moving you any closer to your goals? If not, can you drop it? Is it really necessary? Your time and energy are precious and you should devote it wholly to the work that you need to finish to get yourself closer to your goals. It's okay not to take everyone's work and problems onto your shoulders. There is time for that later. It's definitely okay to focus on yourself for a while and achieve what you need to achieve.
  4. Focus on Things You Love
If your goals aren't aligned with things you love or love doing, then is it really a goal for you? Part of the mad dash for success should be loving the dash while you're performing it. If all of the work is just soul-sucking, then the goal you're working towards might not be worth it. Instead, take the time for reflection and determine if the goals are involved or related to things that you love. When you feel passionate about something, you're more motivated to do it and see it succeed, too. It makes all of the efforts that you're putting towards it feel a lot less like work, too, and more like play.

Believe in Yourself

If you don't believe that you can achieve in your goals, then you won't. Be kind to yourself, be kind to others, and you can find lasting success in practically everything that you do.
