Is It Possible That Robots Will Replace Teachers?

A school in which the AI wants to take the place of a teacher doesn’t immune to this. But does this mean that in the future the profession of a teacher will disappear, and both computers and robots will begin to teach children? Can artificial intelligence replace teachers? Many scientists agree with the opinion that teachers can be partially replaced by artificial intelligence. But if you collect willpower, hide your wallet and conduct research on the Internet, you can achieve a similar effect without resorting to the help of an hourly professional. The study of material, exercise, control, and even games and entertainment - all these possibilities are quite possible to get without the help of a living person.

Of course, robots are still far from expressing emotions, but they can help to deal with routine work, for example - term paper writing help, or systematize the data given to it precisely under its power. It is not easy for teachers to keep an entire class under control, to notice at everyone a weak spot. The machine will do it in a few seconds: analyze the work of the student, his/her answers, then will give a teacher all the information about students.

However, not so long ago, the University of Oxford conducted the study analyzing 700 areas of activity in order to understand which of them are threatened by the most significant risk of extinction. It turned out that teachers belong to a category that has nothing to fear in the coming years.

Trying to answer the question of why artificial intelligence will not replace a teacher in the near future, you do not need to have a Ph.D. Today, pupils and students increasingly prefer to spend a day off with a tablet than with their parents in the out-of-doors, and this is a clear victory for AI. But if a child suddenly fell and broke his knee, he is unlikely to run to the tablet, is he? So natural intelligence does not lose ground. This is directly related to the confrontation between the teacher and the robot: no one can replace the teachers’ sensitivity, a personal example, the emotional connection between a teacher and a student. A teacher is not an audiobook, personal qualities are important here.

It is true that distance learning courses are becoming more and more popular, but one should not forget that their content does not appear from nowhere. Someone should take care of it.

What about methods of teaching subjects that are not as objective as physics or mathematics, or simply not based on knowledge as such? Can a computer understand the nuances of music, visual arts and literature, and then in an accessible form to present the necessary information to students? This seems rather doubtful, and if even once, such an opportunity arises, then definitely not in the near future.

Almost as widespread mechanization has enabled working populations (or perhaps forced them) to use more imagination and creativity in their professions, therefore at present a leap in advanced technologies will give people the opportunity to work within these activities, the key component for which is emotional. So, you cannot imagine a computer as a psychotherapist, an artist, a love consultant or a yoga instructor.

Among other things, there will always be a demand for private lessons. Even if the learning process without the participation of teachers will become possible in educational institutions, computers can never give a student as much knowledge as a personal tutor, since living human relationships are the key to the success of effective learning.

Given all these data, it is believed that in the future, it is much more efficient to consider the interaction of teachers with robots, instead of their competition. After all, robots, as a result of human activity, are designed to simplify the work of people. And if, as we have already seen, the complete replacement of teachers with robots is impossible in view of the need for individual human communication for the full development of the personality, then in the field of education robots can become indispensable helpers for teachers.

If you correctly approach this issue, AI really will facilitate and improve the work of teachers. Robots can become a kind of ministry of education in which a large flow of data will be processed.

For example, artificial intelligence will be able to remotely collect all the data about a student: his/her academic success, participation in competitions, assessments, recommendations of teachers, his/her needs - a huge amount of information will be available to parents and teachers.

Technological advances of the future can greatly change the usual education system, but they will never make the teacher's work unclaimed.
