A Look at Recommerce: the Second-Hand Economy
As the COVID-19 pandemic shut down a lot of businesses, buyers had to become more money-conscious. They needed something to remedy the money constraint COVID-19 put on them. What they found was Recommerce, as defined by eBay to smooth the transactions from seller to buyer.
Recommerce was a help to everyone involved. The seller got some quick cash, the buyer got an item for less, and the environment had one less thing go to the trash. It was almost guaranteed to have something to sell if need be.
A study estimated the average value of pre-owned items in a Canadian home and found that there are $5,660 lying around. The vast areas that Recommerce affects make it a serious benefit to the environment and the people involved.
