Molly decides to have a free year away from studying to be a lawyer and decides to take a job as a waitress at a trendy night bar club instead. This is where Molly meets Dean, a real estate professional, who gives her a shot as his office manager. Molly accepts but soon ends up helping him managing his underground poker ring. However, Dean’s poker establishment is no regular backroom affair as he brings in serious celebrities including movie stars, bankers, sports stars and other wealthy and big shot individuals.
Molly is far from being a poker player, however she makes her cash from player tips. Molly’s Game is great at showing the audience a world that they perhaps never imagined was actually possible. While not specifically naming names, it nevertheless hints at certain celebrities plaid in the movie. The movie is based on the bestseller of the same name and, in the book it’s eluded to that the A-list celebrities like Ben Affleck and Leonardo DiCaprio are actually named by Molly Bloom in the book while others identities have been kept confidential.
