ID Card - an Effective Innovation
or a Useless Document?
When a person reaches a certain age, it is mandatory to obtain an identity document. This includes the passport, and it is issued to everyone without exception. If previously the passport was presented in the form of a book of established form, today ID passports are also issued. They have significant differences from traditional passports.
They are used not only for identification of the person, but also for other tasks, which allow the use of documents, made on the basis of ID card template PSD:
-
online banking;
-
domain name registration;
-
verification of restricted, blocked or suspended accounts;
-
high quality stealth for various websites that require ID for verification;
-
cryptocurrency verification.
The ID card template PSD is also used for other purposes.
ID card - what is it?
The ID card is a new type of civilian passport. It is a document certifying the identity of an individual, but not an ordinary one, but a biometric one. The ID card differs from the traditional passport in appearance and other parameters.
Externally, the ID-card looks like an ordinary plastic bank card. A special plastic material with excellent performance characteristics is used for production. The format of ID-1 and its compliance with RFID standard is mandatory for a card, its dimensions are 54x86 millimeters.
ID passport has a built-in chip or contactless electronic data carrier with biometric data about the document holder. Readout of personal and other information from the ID-card is carried out by means of special reading devices. Thus, having an ID card a person does not need to carry a package of documents with him all the time.
The ID card is an official document and has the same legal force as a traditional paper passport in the form of a book. They are provided to banking institutions, various government agencies and authorities.
What information ID cards contain
Identification is made by a digital photo of an individual and personal information on the identification card:
-
Surnames, first names and patronymics, if any. They are written in the language of the country that issued the ID card, but must be duplicated in the Latin alphabet.
-
Gender (male or female).
-
Date and place of birth.
In addition to personal information, the ID-card form contains the citizenship, the date until which the document is valid, the signature of the owner, the identification number of the document.
All personal data is duplicated on a contactless digital carrier (chip). Information about marital status, place of registration, special notes and an electronic signature is also encoded on the chip. Fingerprints may be stored on the chip at the request of the holder, but this is not mandatory. If not, a note is made about it in the document.
The ID-card does not contain any information about your religion, nationality or place of residence.
Procedure for obtaining
The ID card is issued to a person when he or she reaches a certain age. If there is a desire, you can replace the paper passport with an ID-card when the photo is to be replaced - at the age of 25 or 45. It is also necessary to exchange it for a plastic one or get a new one:
-
theft or loss of the document;
-
mechanical damage to the integrity of the plastic form;
-
change/mismatch of the personal data on the card or on the chip (change of name, surname or patronymic, marital status, etc.);
-
if the paper passport has become unusable and is not accepted at institutions or government agencies.
Plastic identity cards will be introduced gradually. Therefore, owners of traditional passports do not need to panic, because these documents are also official and have legal force.
It is possible to receive an ID-card urgently and not urgently. The amount of state duty in both cases will be different. It is important to know that in each particular country the conditions for obtaining an ID-card, the cost of the service, are different (depending on the legal framework in force in the territory of a particular state).
List of benefits
For citizens, ID passports, if compared with ordinary paper documents, have several important advantages.
-
Maximum possible protection against forgery. A biometric passport is virtually impossible to forge, which is its main advantage. Based on this, the ID passport prevents the occurrence of criminal machinations and fraudulent actions. Only a person who is its legal owner can use an ID-card.
-
Compact size and durability of the document. That is the second advantage of a plastic ID card. Compact ID-card fits in a small pocket, it can be carried in a business card holder or a special wallet section. Using a special durable material (polycarbonate) for the production of the card prevents the card from cracking. The ID-card is resistant to moisture, UV light (does not burn out), does not get dirty, thanks to a special coating. The data on the plastic form, even with frequent and prolonged use of the card, is clearly visible and readable.
-
Safety. The data stored on an electronic medium is reliably protected from fraudsters by applying highly effective and up-to-date technologies.
-
The availability of a digital signature allows the ID-card owner to participate in online voting without going to the polls, sign contracts and other important documents, make deals, etc.
The transition to biometric passports also plays an important role in increasing the level of security in the country. The ID-card identifies a person quickly, which can significantly prevent the commission of crimes.
